If Kraven was shown as having a love affair with Erika in his memories when bitten in Underworld Evolution?

Then why did he treat her like annoying puppy with a schoolgirl crush and nothing better to do but follow him around everywhere in the first film? The 2nd picks up immediately where the first left off so there's no time for a gap unless it happened offscreen while everything else was going on?
