Looking for all info on Mercedes bicycles!?

I want to give my hubby a bike for Christmas. He is a senior, but still in pretty good shape. He wants a bike to go riding with our 10-year-old that won't make him feel like he's been going shockless for miles over boulders when he's only gone a couple of miles of smooth dirt path in the park with our son. He has always liked goodies - unique things from Sharper Image and Brookstone really tickle him. That's what made me think of the Mercedes bike. My hubby says he wants a mountain bike with big, fat tires so it will be comfortable. I know there are other things that make for comfort on bicycles. But I'm not exactly sure what. I would love to hear from someone who owns one of these or knows of one or has sold them, etc. We have year-round riding here, so he could use it a lot. What kind of pedals should it have, handle bars - remember we are really going for comfort, comfort, comfort. If it can look really cool and have simple, but good gear shifts, that would do.:-) Thanks so much!!!
