AC TO DC CONVERSION(BRIDGE RECTIFIER)?

How much DC current do you need? The capacitor doesn't have to carry the full line current, but if you are really trying to get 220 volts DC at several hundred amps, you need some regulator circuitry. If the alternator puts out 480 volts, you will get over 600 volts DC when you rectify it. Somebody said to use three-phase, but you would still have a lot of ripple; a DC generator will produce something similar. There are all kinds of voltage regulators, but the simple ones (and the cheap ones) don't work at 200 volts or 1000 amps. What is it you are powering with this?
