Why not just mine the border?

answered the same question and will give roughly the same answer. You're correct about the illegals that cross the boarder. Entering the US illegally is a felony, and those that are here should be deported. The mine field is a little much, as mines do not discriminate. Man and beast are treated equally. A better way would be guard towers, spaced anywhere from 1/2 to 1 mile apart, and man them with snipers. In most cases, you really wouldn't have to shoot the people, just lay a few rounds in close proximity of the boarder jumpers and they would hightail it home. the real hard heads might need a little more convincing.
